Kickoff meeting of ENPRO REUNION

The REUNION project is part of the ENPRO project and was launched on 20 February with the kick-off meeting at TU Darmstadt. As a collaboration of a total of 14 partners from academia and companies, ENPRO paves the way for a faster transfer of more flexible, energy-efficient processes into industrial production.

Key elements are the implementation of batch-to-continuous operation steps at module level, the generation of intelligent and linked modules through consistent automation as well as the development of methods and standards for data integration.

The REUNION (VeRnetzter DEmonstrator-VerbUNd für optimierte PrOzessketteN) project focuses on module implementation in the form of demonstrators in the laboratory and in production as well as clarification of related challenges. This involves both new plants and the modification, modernization, and expansion of existing plants.

In this context, the Laboratory of Equipment Design works on automated, process-intensified stirred-pulsed extraction columns, agitated mini-reactors, and (draft tube baffle) DTB crystallizers. These serve as modules for reaction and separation processes in modular plants.
