iSPS: Integrated SmartProcessSensor

Integrated SmartProcessSensor

The project aims to develop an intelligent sensor for the optical detection of multiphase emulsions. The aim is to design an innovative camera system to determine droplet size. The information obtained will be used for process monitoring and control in filling plants in the cosmetics industry. The resulting images are to be automatically transferred into quantitative parameters such as droplet size, droplet distribution, color information and turbidity using a novel image processing program. Integrating this information into the control system for controlling the process parameters should be possible. The process control must have a low time delay, so that the efficiency in terms of process cycle time and resource utilization can be increased. Furthermore, a simulation model for the fluid dynamics will be developed based on the process for image data acquisition. The fluid dynamics studied will be used to control the process and give a prediction for the parameters to be set in the process.
