Curriculum Vitae

Stefan Höving started studying biochemical engineering at the TU Dortmund University in 2013. He completed his bachelor thesis with the topic "Hyphenation of a Microfluidic Free-flow Electrophoresis Device to a Mass Spectrometer by Electrospray Ionization" at the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS – e.V.. After an exchange semester at the Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, US, he graduated with the master thesis "Development of an Automated Droplet-based Screening System for (Bio-)chemical Reactions " at the laboratory of Equipment Design in 2020. Since then he works as a research associate at the laboratory of Equipment Design, participating in the ENPRO2.0 - VOPA project, focusing on continuous and automated crystallization and precipitation.

Research Topics

  • Continuous particle generation
  • Precipitaion
  • Crystallization
  • Lab automation

From his former activities the following publications were achieved:

  • P. Novo, M. Dell'Aica, M. Jender, S. Höving, R. Zahedi, D. Janasek, 2017, Integration of polycarbonate membranes in microfluidic free-flow electrophoresis, The Analyst – the Analytical Journal of the Royal Society of Chemistry, accepted
  • S. Höving, D. Janasek, P. Novo, 2018, Flow rate independent gradient generator and application in microfluidic free-flow electrophoresis, Analytica Chimica Acta, Elsevier, accepted
